Many years into the future and several world changing events later, man kind is in the few and on the recovery, the world is a hostile place and mostly unpopulated. Conflicts between small gatherings of high-tech cites make for many war zones breaking out across the planet.
Where Bio-Synthetic Assistant Mechaniods or B-SAMs populate the world 1 for every 3 humans we follow the story of one who is at the forefront of AI breakthroughs. Proto is the first "living" machine, but being weaponised and forced to take part in missions she questions morally she soon finds difficulty in understanding the needs of her human creators. She sets out on her own mission of self discovery hoping for something more to her existence but in doing so discovers there is more to why she was created than she thought.
