Decades ago, Human scholar Geoffrey Thurgood and his wife, Lady Tixi of the Ayzdree, made history as the first cross-folk marriage in centuries. Now they make it again, as chance sweeps them up into the battle against a dark power that threatens both races, and possibly the entire world.
