Having belonged to their school's Boy Scout troop, even after leaving it, Laszlo and Edgar live with Ebert, a journalist who takes them in when Laszlo's parents kick him out of the house. Now both sometimes help Ebert with his work at a radio station and Melke, a newspaper distributor for a press agency where Laszlo and Edgar work from time to time. But sometimes they are called by the boss of their organization, who needs the help of these two young men. He has confidence in them because they have been members of the Boy Scouts and during those years they received military training. The boss, Mr. Powell, trusts them and orders them to do things they often don't like to do. Even the newspaper agency and the radio station where Ebert works are constantly monitored by the army and the secret police. Tired of this situation, our friends, along with other people, lead a secret group that will try to eliminate the atmosphere and pressure that their invading neighbor country forces them to live under. The secret group, called “Etterbeek,” has had a basement in the old part of the city since the adventure “Objective Everest” as a meeting place where they plan their actions, later moving to an office on Philippe Baucq 31, a narrow street. The main characters, Laszlo and Edgar, try to travel to different places where the action takes place by means of a gyrocopter, a small helicopter owned by Chaulet, the group's mechanic.
